Welcome to the VALC!

This site provides examples of how Moodle can be used by victim assistance and service agencies to provide educational programs, workshops, and study and networking opportunities. Features include individual study, class management and student-on-student interaction, testing and grading, and revenue generation by charging for training.

While e-learning can be highly effective in delivering academic training, technical knowledge, or imparting "soft-skills" via role-playing, it must be properly developed.

Simply put, people learn differently online. They have different needs, motivations, and time constraints. The material must be developed to reach students with widely varied learning styles, to engage their interest and potential, allowing them to successfully complete a learning experience without the physical presence of an instructor to challenge, guide and reinforce the lesson.

E-learning technology is also an area of intensive study. Examples used on this site includes: native Moodle text, graphic and audio components; free online audio and visual services; special graphics and audio software; and high-end e-learning development software used to create specialized and highly interactive courses.

Combining engaging and creative course design with the appropriate use of text, graphic, audio, graphics, and animations creates powerful and memorable learning experiences in students.

If you are interested in using Moodle for your organization; in creating new courses or transforming your existing classroom learning to e-learning; or in learning about the software and technology used in creating basic online learning, feel free to look over the site. You can also contact us about consulting with your victim assistance or related service agency.
